Bought new PC - How do I get games from old to new PC?
Had to buy new computer. Old computer not Wind 11 compatible. Needed a new computer anyways. How do I get games from one computer to another? Do I need to download all games again? I did move all Steam files to backup portable hard drive but not confident if moving files to new computer will work. ADVICE needed. Thanks

Either of those options work. Re-downloading the games on the new PC is easy and requires no fussing around -- but is potentially very slow. Moving the files to external storage, then copying the files to the new PC is a little more complicated and requires basic PC knowledge. But it could potentially be orders of magnitude faster than going through the internet, depending on how slow your internet is and how fast your external storage is. Or move your old storage medium into the new PC.

Just connect the two computers to the same network and then on both computers, login to your Steam account, and then go to Settings -> Downloads and enable "Game File Transfer over Local Network." Now install the games on your new PC. There should be a banner stating that files are being transferred locally. Make sure that the PCs are otherwise idle. See:
