Stuck on client login
Once the login screen comes up, the QR code never loads and if I put in my account name and password and hit login it just sits there.
I have cleared cache, removed the registry key, checked the hard drive, the ram and uninstalled and reinstalled on a different drive. Obviously turned off the computer fully and rebooted it. Turned off the firewall and, finally, tried to run it as administrator. Oh, and updated my GPU driver. I’m using win 11, the date is correct and I have no more ideas. Please help!

Look there is a reason most dont mention tool like ccleaner and other app that check pc anymore, they have a marketing campaign most dislike today.

But you cant gte past they do check PC and same goes in tool section where check windows database registration issue. make backup before you clean.

Let's see if old ccleaner can fix OP issue if he knew that app from the past.

ps.
many today have forgot all the entries app and Ms did, user might not need or leftover past entries, that did not get removed.

Well, rolled the dice and did cleaner AND added the registry and other than a marked improvement in processor speed, there was no difference.
Any other ideas before I do a complete HD wipe and reinstall everything on a cleaned slate?

Hmm, you've certainly tried several things already. Let's see since you've already reinstalled Steam and tried a couple other things you can also try clearing out the cache folder for Steam under AppData which exists separately from your Steam directory. It could help as files could go missing or get corrupted there as well. Navigate to your AppData folder (which may be hidden), and nestled under Local and Steam, remove the files there after creating a backup as necessary.
-- Windows key + R, then type "AppData" under the Run dialog box.
-- Found alternatively via: ...Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Steam, usually on your C drive.
-- For MacOS, it should be ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/

If you use anything from Razer, try disabling those items and software when you try to log in. Weirdly, in the past, some users were prevented from logging into their Steam account due to conflicts presented by Razer, iirc. Similarly, disable Nvidia overlay if it's active if you have it.

If you're able to pop into your Steam settings, even for a moment, then try to disable both "smooth scrolling in web views" and "GPU accelerated rendering in web views". They're under the Interface section and will require a restart to take affect. Enabled by default, these settings have been known to cause issues for some users for Steam to operate normally. Occasionally, this affects certain users only after an update to Steam occurs. (You can also conceivably check the corresponding config files for Steam to adjust these settings but I don't know offhand which line to adjust within them.)

This is probably not going to be an issue for you since you've reinstalled Steam but also check the "achievement_progress.json" file, and make sure its size is relatively small -- typically a few KBs. If not, then make a backup copy and delete the original. Steam will rebuild that with a newer, smaller file. If it doesn't help, then you can always return the backup copy.
-- The file can be found in your Steam installation directory under userdata/[usernumber]/config/librarycache.

Update your mobile app and then deauthorize your other devices and then try logging in again. Honestly though, this idea is just a shot in the dark considering you've tried so many other things.

Also, try disabling any P2P, FTP, and any download accelerator or manager programs one at time. Those could also, according to Support, interfere with Steam from working properly.

Lastly, scan for any malware and viruses since you haven't mentioned checking for them. You might have unknowingly picked up a nasty bug that's preventing you from logging into Steam.

That's all the additional things I can think of at the time of this post that you haven't tried or that wasn't already mentioned by others above. Wishing you success. Good luck!
It's been 2 days since my steam client refuses to connect to steam server (stuck in a "logging in...please wait indefinetely" loop,
tried every normal things (restart windows, reinstall steam) with 0 result.

Have anyone actually managed to pinpoint and fix the issue?

---
Managed to log in through my browser with 0 issue though...

You are not the first steam user that do the pro ways then you had enough of all this, and all other steam user suggestion. even wipe steam and start over. or reset windows. this is 100% your choise and noboby blaim you from doing it, if you are in clan/guild that need its player almost every night /week for its guild runs.

gl with it no matter what you do here.

Fixed it by manually installing "DigiCert Global Root G3" certificate from the digicert website. This is what steam is currently using.

Installed it…. No difference. There is clearly another issue that is adjacent to this one. I’ll probably do a full wipe tomorrow morning.
