Improve your Graphics for every game by doing this
So I am a fairly new PC gamer and I do not claim to know everything. Actually quite the opposite as I am learning many new things everyday.

I see over and over people saying games are not looking good and giving bad reviews to games. They are saying some of these games need to fix their game before they play it. I say its not at all the games problem, and it is more than likely your settings.

I encourage anyone to please share any tools, tips or services that they use to improve their overall gaming experience. I will just share a few things I use and have learned. This may or may not seem like its basic or everyone should know these things, but I don't think they do. Cause all my games look absolutely gorgeous and I had to do tons of research and testing to figure out how to get to that point.

Step 1

Your monitor, Check the settings on the actual monitor. You definitely want to make sure you even have HDR setting turned on. Explore your options and mess around with your color and other features to get it how you like it.

You can also set this internally from your computer settings that leads to

Step 2

Go in your computer settings, make sure the HDR is set to automatic. You find these in your Display settings. You can optimize your color settings.

One big thing here is Resolution - You should be set on the recommended Resolution of your Monitor. You can set up your Color and Graphics settings at a basic level right there in your system settings.

Step 3

Know what you have. Know what type system you have in place. If you Right Click on your Windows button and go to Device Management or Computer Management, you can see what you all have installed on your PC. Make sure they are all updated.

Some of these games might be asking for a higher requirements than you have on your current system. Thats ok, We will get to that. You can play almost any game you want, especially more popular games.

Step 4

Make sure you don't have tons of things open and running in the Backround. Clear your Data in your web browsers, make sure you turn off what apps, or programs are opening when you start your PC. Don't worry, you don't need most of them. Pin the ones you use the most and just load up as needed.

I also suggest finding a good Driver Booster. I use Razer Cortex which Closes out anything not needed while gaming especially.

Step 5

Get an Optimization app. I use Nvidia app and optimize all my games through it. So it actually tells you the best settings for each game using your PC.

Now this is where if your PC hardware is too low and you can't play certain high graphic games comes in. Get GEFORCE through that Nvidia app and it is totally worth it. There is a free version up to I believe $20 a month. The high end Version will give you the new Blackwell RTX 50 series. So now you have top tier Hardware, you can connect tons of Steam games, Xbox, Epic, and it has others. The only one you can't connect with is Playstation. Now if you have a decent Smart TV, I use LG Web OS to just connect stratight to my TV and now you don't need a monitor or even PC hardware.

Step 6

Make sure your settings in game and on whatever your playing from match your internal settings from the Nvidia app. Your settings may be for Full Screen or Borderless, and your game is set to the opposite. This causes problems. I suggest setting your internal settings for windowed and Full Screen and when you get in game check to make sure that your in Full Screen or Windows.

Also make sure your resolution in game is at what your monitor is. This is very important for the graphics. Make sure your steam settings are matching as well.

Vsync should be off if you want high FPS, Also some games actually look and feel better when setting to Performance over Quality. Always go in game settings and check out what is and isn't set.

Step 7

I use a tool, called MSI afterburner to track performance. There is also one of these in the Nvidia app you can use. Now one thing that is impoortant is your Steam client and even some games might be on an updated Server or Streaming client, so you want to make sure you are not using an old one. Some of these new games have features to set up off your PC or Cloud stream and monitor as best it can. If you are using an old client its probably not updating properly.

Again I am new at PC gaming so I am just figuring some of this out as I go. I am sure there are better and easier ways to check some of these things. I would love to hear them. I am just sharing what I have done and figured out to work.

You can find may older games you cant set vsync free, they use it ingame and game will get buggy with it. ( also why its never as simple or in this post give advice to all pc user with diffrent hardware, dont expect any will comment or say all is fine with your suggestion.
i could also say if all did what you suggest, you could get a issue with it if they report you im not the problem here you made that yourself.

ps.
I also think its more aimed for newer games that can go past lock, problem is each past game in who can do that is complicated. ( and its inhere your post can be harmfull if steam pc user do not know better.

Whether HDR looks better is dependent on the monitor. Many monitors don't do HDR properly (according to specs), and when it *is* done properly on large screens (such as 32" and bigger), the 600 to 1000 nits peak brightness required by the specification absolutely murders the eyes when you're sitting that close. HDR gaming is more suitable for big living room TVs IMO because you're sitting further from the screen.
