No Internet Connection
Can't download games or updates. Nvidia app won't download the new driver. Outlook won't show embedded images on my emails from the PC. Started this week.

Partners Steam on her PC (same network) downloads fine. Epic on my PC downloads fine. Outlook on my phone works fine. Internet working.

Tried all the things suggested by google/Youtube. Full virus scan all clear.

Any ideas what the problem is?

I suppose you have tried to reinstall steam? If that is the case I would suggest checking any possible anti-virus things you have since some are real weird and tend to block apps that are safe (like Steam)

I turned off all AV and firewalls, made no difference.

I haven't tried reinstalling Steam due to the problems I am having with Outlook and my graphics card app. I don't think it will do anything.

My setup hasn't changed in three years so I don't understand why it has just stopped working, only for the parts listed.

Do repair network connection help at all. ?

Check cable and if pc has 2 lan ports try that.

ps.
reinstall steam will not help then you have multi issue with DL and access then it cant be a steam only issue.

Partners Steam on her PC (same network) downloads fine. ( this is vital info ) thats look like only own PC issue special if has work before with both on network.

Check install apps in windows or update from when it work last time, more a what if this is a update thatchange something or app security did it.

You can even test with hes cable after 3 minute arp table update, when your mac adr is ipdate.

and test with other spare pc or frineds laptop to confrm its only your main pc that has a issue, still proof it is that pc and not some cable or router, or setup.

reinstall lan driver and other things like that is next.

well anyway gl with it.

ps.
i dont have to mention VPN or Wifi , right , i have so many post with it so its almost common knowledge if you read other post from all steam user while you try fix your network connection issue.

do check time and date and contry is in sync, network is a global comunication and cmos battery and things like that matter. ( not all system accept i have rime in 1970 anymore to be at the point. ) its never this but who knows what happend at your pc.

Thanks for the replys.

Not using a VPN or wifi. Ethernet tried in both ports, no change.

It's not a Steam only issue due to Outlook and Nvidia app not working properly.

Very strange how everything else is OK.

Did you run "netsh winsock reset" as administrator yet?

this is why it already look like a onw local issue, you can find guide with reinstall network and its driver, but it do not tell yoiu how it get to this issue.

Do you still have DNS iadded or other crazy ideas like that and it dont make it better then is has worked before. ( and you chenge nothing accoiding to you. ) no buios reset or and other stupis ideas like atht i bet you can see the our point of view , is there lan light in the card behind pc.

evem a old lan card could be a good idea to test with.

or chenge cable as test.

or you on same network, and do you have a ip adr. can you ping gateway or access router setup even.

watchout for MS ip adr. Network devices getting an IP address in the 169.254.x.x range. ?

that mean you dont have contact to own router or DHCP scope

Have tried Network Reset, DNS cache flush and Winsock reset, still not working.

If the problem is with my PC (which I believe it is) why are only a few things affected?

Why can I download from Epic?

This is getting above my ability to fix now.
