So my friend was messaged by this random guy and then sent him screenshots of a purchase my friend didn't make then that same random sent him another screenshot of an email it seems saying my friend was doing "illegal purchases" when he was not because the random messaged him around 12:25 AM posting the screenshot of the 270 dollar purchase my friend never made long story short he started messaging this Jeff developer guy on steam and they were going through the steps and the Jeff guy asked for my friends discord to they could talk more and we think its a scam if you need more info please ask i need an answer soon tho.

It's a scam.

Report and block all people involved in that scam.

Valve employees will never communicate with you about your account using any chat system including Steam Chat and Discord.

Any claim that you've been accidentally or falsely reported for fraud or any other infraction is a scam. Do not follow any instructions provided by the scammer.

Take the following steps to secure your account (just to be safe):

1. Scan for malware. If you don't have a malware scanner use https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

You aren't supposed to add a key - you revoke one if there is one present. If there isn't then you don't need to worry about this field.
