Opening profiles in overlay doesn't work with KDE

Basically the title: trying to view a friend's profile in the overlay results in an error "Error - KIO Client - Could not read file *steam link*". It's not clear to me why it doesn't work considering it worked before. Likely an update to KDE or Steam is the cause.
Honestly, I don't know if it's a KDE, Steam or my configs issue, but maybe someone has encountered this issue here and knows a workaround or even a fix.

Have been dealing with this issue for a few weeks and haven't figured it out.
