I transferred money from my bank account to revolut account and it was registered as "suspicious"
I transferred some money to my revolut account via Google Pay and it was registered as "suspicious" would that be a reason to ban my account by steam if i tried to buy a steam deck?

Valve doesn't own revolut, if revolut has some problems with the money they shouldn't let you use it. Nothing to do with Valve. Valve doesn't ban accpunts baded on issues not occurring on their platform.

Then for what reasons can valve ban accounts?

Breaking the rules, where the specific consequences of the ban being related to the nature of the rules being broken. So two questions, what consequences are you imagining in your ban concern? How does transferring money to revolut and their internal processes violate Steam's rules?

It kinda feels like you're worrying about nothing, or you're omitting critical details driving your worry.
Well i read that someone's account was banned when trying to buy steam deck he was rarely using his steam account so valve banned his account thinking that its a scam

Well a few things to consider with anecdotes.

  1. People lie
  2. People exaggerate
  3. People omit critical details
  4. People make up details to fill in gaps in their understanding, and usually those are all wrong because they're uninformed guesses.
  5. Is that person's anecdote the same as your situation? Why don't all the differences matter?

Even if a person's anecdote isn't a lie or misunderstanding, you still need to take it with a grain of salt.

If you really have concerns make sure whatever issue on revolut's side is sorted out, work with their customer support or whatever. After that then it's just a regular transaction with no potential issues one way or another. Steam doesn't ban users for buying Steam Decks normally. And I'd question if the user really was "banned". I've noticed people have been using the word "ban" for every sort of issue, non-punitive restriction or cooldown and the consequences is the term can be very ambiguous now. How exactly was the user in your anecdote penalized? If you don't know, well how accurate do you think your guesses are?

I could understand if maybe the transaction was declined for some reason. But not using your account much doesn't really warrant penalties unless there's omitted details to the story. But hearing a paraphrased story third hand makes it kind of hard to comment with any certainty.
