All Steam games stuck on closing
hi. i first ran into this with elden ring, but then tried multiple other games, and it persists.

regardless of whether a game crashes, gets force closed, or just exits normally, steam refuses to acknowledge that it stopped running. if i click "stop", it gets stuck with the grey button and the process is still running. closing and restarting steam changes absolutely nothing, and when a process is "stopping", task manager actually doesn't function. i can open it, but it only loads a handful of basic windows processes, plus itself, and sometimes steam processes too. even when steam shows up there, i quite literally cannot end the task. i can only terminate taskmgr itself.

do not tell me to uninstall and reinstall the client, as i've done this multiple times, even gone as far as to wipe my windows installation and install it completely fresh. all it serves to do is inconvenience me because i have to wait for my games to install all over again just to see if they still break. i've heard it has something to do with how steam communicates with its servers, but regardless of what it is, i need a real fix immediately. i've never had such severe issues with this client until recently, and i can't imagine what went wrong.

Other issue we cant see here , have plenty of free storage space so OS have enough free space to recover or performance can get effect. ( try respec last 200gb free on all drev.

old win7 way its a 10% warning and red color bar at drev tell its near full.
problem with this is there is drev thats 10tb so % is useless, also why win10 dont have it anymore last i checked.

seems fine, yeah. elden ring takes up a ton of ram but not excessive by any means. would like to add that, just now, i froze in elden ring and had to force quit, but taskmgr won't let me terminate it. i CAN terminate other processes because i didn't hit the "stop" button yet, but i went to the "details" tab in taskmgr and it gave me a popup saying "access denied" when i tried to end it. what could that be? i've ensured i'm an administrator, can't imagine what else that would mean.

oh, i also can't go to other tabs aside from processes when steam breaks task manager, so i can't see graphs or anything. it'll just stop responding. the %s at the top are totally normal, but i imagine that wouldn't be accurate if the whole thing is malfunctioning.
would hurt to do a good malware/virus scan.

Windows do not update your BIOS and chipset driver, make sure you check this at pc support page.

In the old day you got a cd-rom wih it on, but pc is also sold as not have dvd.drev today so all this is online today. ( depend on pc build, ofc. )

sure, if i hadn't done so multiple times already, and if i wasn't on a completely fresh and sound windows install. i'm convinced now that it's a steam client issue specifically, as i just tried again (fresh pc installation, again) and the issue arose when i tried and failed to run persona 5 royal. not an intensive game, never had any bugs before, but now it stems to every other game, including terraria of all things, and is only "fixed" by restarting my entire pc.
