Download to USB...Is it possible and how?
Can't download games due to storage space no matter what I do. Can I download games to my ssk 1TB USB?

Sure, create a Steam library on the disk like any other disk. If it's a flash drive the performance will be pretty bad. If it's a SSD performance will be limited by USB.

There's some other minor concerns with the drive becoming unplugged while in use, naturally that would cause problems any time the unavailable drive needs to be accessed.

It can be done but Steam usually doesn't work well with external drives.

Some tips that can help:
Try to make sure the drive is mounted before Steam starts up.
Do not unplug it until Steam is shut down.
Since it is a SSD, I'm assuming it doesn't have a sleep function but if there's at any point that it hibernates while Steam is running, it will cause some issues.
