But games can go on deeper discounts at anytime.
It's possible that the big Steam sales get a good discount on some games, I wouldn't expect that in general: they are too long and too famous.
Of course, keep in mind that "games" is a very general term. There are tons of them, and lots of publishers. In other words, it's not like every game is treated the same...
You could take a look at isthereanydeal to see how some of the games you're interested in have historically performed.
