Discrimination and bias in forum bans
Steam support discriminates against users in how they issue biased bans against users who didn't violate the rules, while not banning users who do violate rules.

Without warning I received a month long ban for replying to a post that attempted to outline the situation regarding tariffs and US immigration laws, I simply added corrections and new information to the discussion.

The person whom I replied to retaliated with insults, a day later, I received a month ban, and the user currently has no ban. I ignored their insults and simply contributed relevant information in spite of their flaming.

So I open a ticket to steam support to ask what rules did I break, and steam support simply ignores what I asked and closes the ticket without answering my question.

How can I prevent future bans if steam support refuses to answer what rule I ran afoul of? And why are users allowed to freely insult and disrespect me for the crime of dispassionately adding missing information to a discussion?

Simple!

Don't reply to topics which violate the Steam policies / code of conduct. Just report and move on.

That makes sense, thank you.

What doesn't make sense is how people can make those topics, insult everyone who replies, but not get banned, only the people who reply get banned.

Could mods be setting these up as bait on their other accounts in order to entrap users who disagree with them?

Do you get an answer? Or is it an answer you don't agree with?

Step 1) stop breaking the rules

Step 2) refer to step 1

Also I got literally 3 posts into your history before you invoked Godwins Law. If you're wondering "why am I getting banned". There's a reason

None of the posts that were removed, broke any of the rules at all.

That's why I'm asking this question, because I didn't break any rule.
This isn't one of those times were both sides lost their cool and started insulting or threatening each other.

And no, there's no example of me invoking Godwin's Law in my post history, what you're seeing is me replying to someone else invoking Godwin's Law.

If you're going to reply to offer advice, please make an effort to do better than this, you've not contributed anything useful, and instead made yourself look uninformed by leveling provably false accusations against me. Please improve before trying again, thank you.

I didn't get an answer to my question of what rule did I break.

They simply said "we won't reverse the ban" but that doesn't inform me of what rules were broken.

You do realize your post history is public and that literally anyone can see this right? Right?

Yes I know, you'll see in my post history that I've pasted the link to my own post history, when people make false accusations such as the one you've made.

What my post history isn't showing, are the posts of the users I replied to.

I didn't invoke Godwin's law, if you're going to offer advice, it's not helpful to lie about the subject at hand.
Are you banned? I don't see the text in red "(banned)".
Maybe you are banned in a game forum. Here is not the place to ask about game specific issues.

It's a game forum.

But I'm not asking about game specific issues, I'm asking about Steam support, as I want assistance to get an answer from them, or assistance in how to get an answer from them since they refuse to answer my question.
