Steam client wont boot, nothing in task manager, tried everything..
I'm going insane, my steam launcher wont boot for anything, i've restarted my pc, reinstalled steam 10 times, deleted cache, tried to boot it from administrator, ive tried reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++, tried turning off my firewall to test if it's blocking, i've checked the logs and all it says from the steamerrorreport is that there is no bootstrap, i tried googling it and got basically the same answer to reinstall steam and go into local files and delete stuff. It's been like this since April 27th. I didn't do anything special to my pc, one day it just happened.
What happens when i try to launch it is that the "updating steam" popup shows up, loads for like 5 seconds then disappears and nothing more happens, i checked task manager, after the popup it runs the steamerrorreport.exe and then that shuts down too.

All it says in the logs is this:

[2025-05-05 22:08:19] Client version: no bootstrapper found
[2025-05-05 22:08:19] Startup - webhelper launched pid: 2724 commandline: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\cef\cef.win7x64\steamwebhelper.exe"

[2025-05-05 22:08:21] Browser - launching child process with: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\cef\cef.win7x64\steamwebhelper.exe" --type=utility --utility-sub-type=network.mojom.NetworkService --lang=sv --service-sandbox-type=none --user-agent-product="Valve Steam Client" --lang=sv-SE --user-data-dir="C:\Users\alva1\AppData\Local\CEF\User Data" /prefetch:3

All i know is that no bootstrapper is found and i dont know what to do.

hello
open bootstrap_log.txt from the steam/logs and you will get your answer
steamwebhelper.exe is a execute file try add to AV app exception rules, same goes with steam.exe.

if your security app block it, it will never run.

ps.
Do note most have stopped tell ppl update BIOS and chipset driver, because they have app that do it for them.

and chack system. ( i and other did not say you found a bug , but in your case you hope it will and fix it. )

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
SFC /Scannow
chkdsk c:
chkdsk d:
chkdsk e:

ps.
There is always reset windows and safe boot mode, with why you have interferencer issue with a app and steam.

Dont expect ppl will solve your issue for you. ( steam is seen as well tested for millions of ppl
its funny most helper here never got a issue, other then minor tuedday steam patch day that its fixed within 24hours, also why we post this.

And do not stay in steam beta, its a teporary fx not i will use beta forever as some steam user have done.

google steam flush cmd ( reset to whatever steam now see as default, i think, good look even googl what it do. other ythen clean and flush its setting or cache because of the word. it say it do.

( The Steam flush config command is used in the Steam client application to clear the local configuration settings stored on the user’s computer. Steam will delete the user’s saved login credentials, custom settings, preferences, and any cached data or temporary files when executing this command. )

Yeah so it turned out my Windows was slightly corrupted from it crashing midshutdown last week. I decided to update to Windows 11 instead of reinstalling Windows 10 and it works now!
But I appriciate the help! Thank you
