how am i supposed to make a steam guide?
im trying to make a simple guide, on how to send colored messages in counterstrike. The problem is any time i make a change, no matter how small, it submits it for review and it gets locked for hours.
make a new section? locked for 3 hours.
title the section? locked again for 5 hours.
add text to the body? locked again until next morning.
How am i supposed to make any substantial progress on this? how do people have such detailed guides with pictures and links? does it just take months and months of waiting to do that? im so confused

i tried creating a new guide, doing my best to paste contents in instead of making changes, and it got locked before it even allowed me to add a section to it. this is absolutely absurd.
Analysis has gotten more and more backed up for guides the past couple years.

:nkCool:
Finish the guide in full and then publish. Community content like guides are used to peddle malicious content sometimes, so the analysis seems to take longer than let's say a simple forum post.

i cant. the only part of a guide that you can edit before publishing is the basic guide info. After you confirm that, its published and it gets analyzed.
For example, i created a new guide to try exactly that, and before i was even able to put stuff in the body it was already published and locked under review.

I had zero issues when making my guides, last one just a couple of weeks ago. They're for pretty tiny games tho, might be different for the popular ones that are used for scams

That makes alot of sense actually. Thats probably why. Hopefully they can add some kind of offline editing mode or make this bearable somehow.
