Clair Obscure Expedition 33. Black Pixels Showing as Red – Global Lighting/Rendering Bug?
Hi everyone,

I'm playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and I'm encountering a weird rendering issue throughout the game. Areas that should be black or dark are showing up as bright red or reddish, including character models, outfits, and shadows.

It’s especially obvious when I pause the game and the character menu shows up — the red “aura” around Gustave is extremely noticeable, but I’m pretty sure it shouldn’t be there. However, this red tone appears in other places too, like in hair shadows or clothing textures, though more subtly.

I've tried:
Turning HDR on and off (both in Windows and in-game)

Changing all graphical settings (bloom, post-processing, lighting, etc.)

Testing different resolutions and display modes (fullscreen, borderless, windowed)

Resetting monitor settings and NVIDIA control panel color settings

Updating GPU drivers (I have an RTX 3060 Ti)

Disabling advanced lighting features like ray tracing, volumetric lighting, etc.

Verifying game files

My questions:
Has anyone else seen this red pixel/lighting bug across shadows or dark areas?

Is this a known shader or lighting bug with specific GPUs or driver versions?

Could this be a problem with the game’s post-processing pipeline?

Is there any config file or launch command to disable problematic effects manually?

Any chance this is a corrupted asset or texture in my install?

This issue is ruining the visual experience a bit, so I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance!

The problem was exactly that.

Thank you so much!
