Unexpected Error on purchasing gifts

I'm trying to buy a friend Halo MCC, but I'm getting an Unexpected error every time.

I just added them and I even spent 5 dollars on Steam to get out of Level 0. Would appreciate help!

The error message instructs you to contact Support if the problem persist. Perhaps that's what you should do.

Are you trying to use wallet funds to purchase the gift?

You can buy them with Steam Wallet funds as I have before... But there is a 3 day period before you can purchase anything for that friend.

As far as I know, the 3 day waiting time only counts for digital gift cards.

You and your friend must both have Steam accounts and you'll need to be friends on Steam. You can purchase Steam digital gift cards for any user that you have had on your friends list for at least 3 days. Please note that you cannot use existing wallet funds to purchase a digital gift card.

So far i've only spent around 8 dollars. Some for a TF2 key and Assassin's Creed II. Hope that isn't considered too often.

And yes the account's new, i made it around 4 - 5 days ago.

Either use an external payment method or contact Steam Support:

Support > Purchases > I can't complete my purchase on the Steam store > Game or other Software > Enter the name of the game into the search bar

Politely explain your situation to Steam Support. Maybe they will allow you to use wallet funds again to purchase that game for your friend.
