Oblivion Remastered - DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.
I'm having a truly authentic Oblivion/Bethesda experience with the new Oblivion Remastered :steamhappy:

Trying to run it for the first time and I keep getting this error:
DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.

But when I run DX Diag it says: DirectX Version: DirectX 12.

If I add -dx11 to the launcher it says it's not compatible with dx11.

Any clues?

What are your system specs?

You might have DirectX 12 on your system, but your hardware isn't DirectX 12 compatible so you're using older support levels included inside DirectX 12. That would be the most plausible explanation given your limited information provided so far.

DirectX has been backwards compatible for a long time, so that's not really a mystery.

Graphics driver been updated lately? A lot of times with these new releases it requires the GPU driver to be updated as well.

best to ask the people that actually own the game

[For Linux] According to this random GitHub thread, if you are using an Intel GPU this may be because of unsupported vulkan functionality added to mesa 25.1 (which is still in preperation).

That just means you have DirectX 12 installed, that does not mean its compatible with your graphic card in games.
Which GPU do you have?

I can confirm this to be a fix. I was able to get it running in my set up:
Ubuntu 24.1
Kernel 6.15-rc3
mesa3d 25.1.0-rc1
