Add a non-steam game semi-broken for anyone else?

Been this way for me for the better part of a year. I've reinstalled Steam also so it's not that.

The issue is when I go to add a non-steam game, the window pops up and it stays on loading for several minutes until I just give up and close it. Then try again, and again, and finally it might load the list of programs to add after a few tries of waiting several minutes each time.

If anyone knows of a fix for this issue hit me up. Or might it be something messed up for everyone else and I just have to wait for Valve to finally fix it?

btw, this issue happens in both beta and stable.

Is the game is installed on your windows drive right?
Then use the launcher to add it as a non Steam game, your using the link at the top > Games add a non Steam game?

I know how to add the games. In the client, click "games" up top in-between friends and help, and select "add a non-steam game to my library". It's not an issue of not knowing how to add the games. It's an issue of the next step being stuck on loading trying to populate the list of programs.
