VAC ban for cs 1.6
Ok, so there are some files that modify the game itself ig, aka DLLs and i heared that it can lead to a vac ban. However they arent really cheats, so i wanted to check here if anyone knows does changing a dll for counter strike 1.6 result in a vac ban (dont have to be instant but generally) since i wanted to try a dll that fixes the hitboxes for the game

Modifying or injecting DLL's can be fatal so I would avoid that at all costs. Valve aren't going to manually sift through each .dll file to see what type of modification it is and whether it should be classed as a cheat. Typically you'd get a VAC ban and something that 'fixes' hitboxes in itself would be classed a as a advantageous cheat regardless.

The VAC system reliably detects cheats using their cheat signatures. Any third-party modifications to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban. This includes modifications to a game's core executable files and dynamic link libraries.

"fixes the hitboxes for the game"
That absolutely sounds like a cheat.
Don't mess around with VAC enabled games.
There's nothing wrong with the hit boxes in CS 1.6, so you shouldn't be messing around with them. And yes, if you do then they'll be a good chance you getting VAC banned.

Having different hit boxes than the rest of players would certainly be cheating.

Your opinions won't save you if you decide to chance it, and Valve won't unban you if you get caught no matter what you argue.
