seeking assitance with overclocking but not sure where to ask so i got to steam
I have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-14500 but I cant seem to find guides on overclocking it online so I figured id ask here. I just want to understand how I might potentially increase my computers performance specifically because Hell divers 2 struggles badly on my computer but ive got a decent water cooler and my temps are often around 50°-55° so I think if its at all possible there is a margin for increase and just let me temps go to like 60-70 maybe?

Is the game even bottlenecked by the CPU to begin with? Unless you want to overclock just to tell your friends that you're over clocking, find out whether you're solving the right problem to begin with!

I cant think of anything else that may be the issue, the problem arises from higher difficulties in the game where theres a ton of enemies on screen. ive got a buddy with the same graphics card as me but some sort of i7 and he runs the game very smooth.

While I still think that more thorough diagnosis than "I can't think of anything else" would be helpful, you can download Intel XTU and see how far that'll get you. From what I quickly found, your CPU's over clocking potential is limited meaning it's not entirely impossible (or extremely difficult).

Non-K sku's don't have unlocked multipliers, so overclocking is a lot less feasible. You would need/prefer an i5 14500k.

Aside from that overclocking of most modern CPU's is pretty pointless. The headroom is minimal as are the performance gains. I'm not telling you not to do it, but you would need to manage your expectations quite a lot. One of the reasons overclocking info might not exist/is sparse is it's just not attractive so most people don't.

As for your game performance, what GPU do you have? Because I don't think it's a CPU problem. Your CPU should be perfectly fine. I've run the game fine on a i7 12700k/GeForce 3080 ti and your CPU is pretty close to mine.Which is why I wonder about your GPU.

Also what settings/resolution are you running the game at?

ive got

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-14500
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
RAM: 16157 Mb

I run all my games at 1920x1080 cause I dont think my screen can go higher then that its old af and my settings ingame are a quite a mix, some stuff low, medium and high. I would say majority medium though
I just went into bios and figured out my ram wasnt going at the advertised Mhz speed so ive set that to see if I see any change it was at like 2667Mhz in task manager now ive set it to 3200Mhz

That may help a bit. I'm not sure how much RAM Helldivers 2 uses, but more RAM may help if your usage is high. (Forgive me I've been running 32GB for so long I don't know how much a problem less is)

There's a few flavors of 3060, how much VRAM does yours have?

I also haven't played since last summer, and I know there have been a number of updates and stuff so it's always possible that's made the game more demanding. Do you have performance issues in urban environments or just in general?

Overall your system seems reasonably powered.

Primary VRAM: 2047 MB

also the ram Mhz change helped alot but I will keep digging around to see what can be improved, im not super tech savy but I did build this PC and perhaps made some mistakes, other games run fine like im able to run cyberpunk at 1080p with raytracing on ultra settings so id like helldivers to get near to that too
