trading with a friend but someone else got it

Hi so today i was asked to verify my faceit id by sending a trade to my friend and so forth which i did but the items were not sent to him instead went to a different account which isnt even on my friends list i am confused as to how that happened and how i can get my stuff back

You was scammed, there is no such thing as having to do a steam trade to verify faceit id. The scammer hijacked your steam account by getting you to sign in via a fake faceit link and waited for you to set up the trade. They then cancelled the trade and redirected it to a fake account made to look like your friends, so you would approve it.

Do the following to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)
