🚨 WARNING: Steam Security Failed Me – My $4000 CS2 Inventory Was Stolen Even After Blocking My Account! 🚨
Hello everyone,

I want to share my terrible experience with Steam's so-called "security system" and warn you all to be extra careful. If this can happen to me, it can happen to anyone!

What Happened to Me:
🔹 On February 14th, my Steam account was hacked.
🔹 The moment I noticed unauthorized activity, I immediately used Steam’s official account recovery link to BLOCK my account, exactly as Steam instructs users to do.
🔹 Despite my account being officially blocked, the hacker was still able to log in, refund my games, and transfer my entire CS2 inventory to their own account like nothing happened.
🔹 I lost over $4000 worth of CS2 skins that I spent years grinding for and purchasing through legitimate transactions.

Steam’s Response?
When I contacted Steam Support, expecting help and protection, their response was shocking:
❌ "We cannot restore lost items, nor provide compensation."
❌ "The security of your account is your responsibility."
❌ "We’re closing this ticket."

So let me get this straight…
🚨 Steam provides an account block link, but it does nothing.
🚨 Hackers can still access your blocked account and steal everything.
🚨 Steam does not take any responsibility for its own security failures.

Why This is a Huge Problem
People trust Steam’s security and spend thousands of dollars on in-game items. Yet, Steam is allowing hackers to:
✔️ Bypass security blocks
✔️ Steal valuable items from legitimate users
✔️ Refund and take money out of hacked accounts

And Steam refuses to do anything about it.

What We Can Do
I refuse to let this go. If you have experienced something similar, let’s unite and file complaints together. Steam must be held accountable for allowing this to happen!

🔹 Report Steam’s weak security on social media (Twitter/X, Steam Community, Reddit, etc.)
🔹 Demand Steam to restore stolen inventory or provide compensation
🔹 Make people aware that Steam’s security is NOT as strong as they claim

If we don’t act, this will keep happening to other players.

Final Words
I will never spend another dollar on Steam after this. I have seen firsthand how weak and careless their security system is. Meanwhile, the website I built myself is far more secure than Steam’s system.

🚨 If you value your account and inventory, be extremely careful. This can happen to anyone. 🚨

Tons of people allow their accounts to get hijacked every day. Just use your eyes and read the forum or use the search function.

Nothing was bypassed.

Accounts are PHISHED not hacked because the end user gave away all their account details, giving them access to their account.

The account name, the password and the KEY to the door, the Steam Guard Mobile code, or scanning the QR code or authorising via fingerprint giving them access to the account.

How? by either logging into a known scam site or sites, tailored malware on your PC, the vote for my team scam, you have a pending ban scam on Discord, free knife click the link, signing in through a fake login window, the fake Valve employee scam, free $50 Steam Gift Card etc.

How does Steam (a program) know it is not you when all the account details are correct? It doesn't, therefore any action taken on your account is seen as you doing said actions.

The alternative is not plausible:

1) Someone would have to "GUESS" your account name from "millions of possible combinations".

2) Next they would have to "GUESS" your password from "millions of possible combinations" and then match it to your account name with "millions of possible combinations".

3) And finally they would have to "GUESS" the Steam Guard Mobile code "which changes every 30 seconds" to match both your account name and password to then have access your account.

The weakest link is the end user, not the security offered.

Or please explain how in 20+ years of using Steam i have never lost access to my account and that includes before Steam Guard Email and Steam Guard Mobile existed.

FREE POINTS - Thank You.

No need to waste supports time, he will not get the items back.
Steam Support does not restore items that have left accounts for any reason, including trades, market transactions, deletions, or gifting.

Steam Support does not restore lost items. Items often exchange hands multiple times before a restoration request and this means they cannot be restored without duplicating them or removing them from another innocent user’s inventory. Duplicating items has a negative impact on everyone who trades or uses the Market by lowering the value of items.

I understand that phishing is a major issue, and I acknowledge that many accounts are stolen due to user error. However, in my case, your explanation does not apply.

✅ I did NOT enter my login credentials into a phishing site.
✅ I used the official Steam security link to BLOCK my account BEFORE the hacker accessed it.
✅ Despite this, the hacker was STILL able to access my account and steal my entire CS2 inventory.

Your security system should have prevented this from happening. If my account was officially blocked, how did the hacker still gain access? How did they bypass Steam’s own security measures?

This is a security failure on Steam's part, not mine. I request a detailed investigation into this matter.

Sorry to tell you, you did a dumb, what that were only you know but it's an error that happened on your end.
If it were on Steams end we would see thousands of users posting the same in the forums now. We don't.

I understand that you do not restore stolen items, but I need you to explain how this was possible:

✅ I never gave my login or password to anyone.
✅ I never entered my credentials on a phishing site.
✅ As soon as I realized my account was hacked, I used the official Steam-provided link to BLOCK my account.
✅ Despite this, the hacker was still able to log in, act like the account was their own, and transfer all my items.
✅ They even contacted Steam Support and requested refunds for games that I personally purchased and enjoyed playing.

How did this happen if my account was officially blocked? If blocking an account doesn’t actually stop hackers from logging in and taking everything, then what is the point of the block system?

This is not just a phishing case. This is a complete failure of Steam’s security measures. I demand a full investigation into how this was possible and why my account was still accessible after I had followed all of Steam’s security procedures.

I expect a serious response and a real solution to this issue.

The fact that you seems think we are working for Valve tells me, you probably got scammed on another platform by a dude saying he/she were from Valve.

No one in here are from Valve, we are ordinary users just like you and can't do anything about it no matter what.

Did you accumulated your entire "$4000 [store credit] CS2 Inventory" without *ever* once trading off-steam?

I have traded on CSFloat, but I have been trading for a year without any issues!

Sounds like nonsense. The official security link had to be sent to you because your account was accessed by the intruder already.

There you have your problem. You used a thirdparty site for trading, something Valve warns about.

All third party skin trading/gambling sites are scams.
This is user error and only mere user error. :badluck:

The only way to get the Steam account stolen is by getting phished because no one gets hacked unless you are wealthy or popular/hated.

I purposely left a few hundred $$$ on my account for 3 years and nothing happened, proving the user error, phishing theory.

No one is spying or hacking normal people (phishing, doxxing, DDoS maybe).

Be careful what you say or type on forums or in game chats, or you may be the next one in handcuffs and booked into jail on criminal charges.

Lets do a test to see if i guess your account name, password and get them to match.

Account name: Nighthawk, Blue Sun, Picaso 3456, Red Dawn Marsh.

Password: GhTY56%%, HJBN89@~#, THYREV^&*78, mM98_+'@JK

How close am i?

Alternatively you guess mine and if you get it right i will authorise the log in.

As for entire not entering your details on a phishing site:

Oh look, it's the usual i got my account compromised because i used a CS2 skin "trading" website.

But nooooo it must be the billion dollar company that has a flawed security system and not one of these shady scam websites people love so much.
