Steam Family Sharing on the Steam Deck
With Steam Families there is a new way of sharing games, that is rather static (must wait 1 year). With the old system you could add and remove people at will without affecting much else.

Specifically on the Steam Deck, you can meet with a friend, let them login to your Steam Deck and have them try a game from your library. They'll be able to play the game without messing with your save game. They'll have their own save game, achievements, etc. synced to their account. Once done, you can remove them from your deck. They won't be able to play the game anoymore, but have their save file and can continue where they left, if they decide to buy the game. Or eventually you gift them the game.

As far as I can tell there is no way to do this with Steam Families, because they are static by design. You may be able to thinker areound with save files manually, but this would still mess with achievements, play time, etc.

Am I missing something? If not, why would Valve prevent us from doing this? Or by analogy: Yes, with physical games only my family members can grab them any time, but I'd be still able to take the copy and visit a friend...

A steamdeck is a computer. If you allowed this on a steamdeck, you would allow it on ANY computer.
