Steam Proton restarting often due to Ubuntu update failure (febr-27)

In case the same thing happens to anyone.

My Steam is installed in Ubuntu 24.04 and therefor uses ProtonDB of Valve (to run WIndows games)

When I started Steam for the first today, it often restarted but like 5-10 sec apart.

I had done a Ubuntu system update before but did not notice any errors.

Out of curiosity I clicked the system update again in case a fix came in last minute.

I told me it detected something wrong in the last update that happened and gave me two options: do a partial update or take a chance and click continue to try to update everything. I chose partial.

Once done I started Steam and it stayed up. It did not stop again. As effect I was able to write this post without interruption.

I hope my game sill now works. It kept crashing probably because of Steam restarting ....
