Hello, I am unable to trade using my Steam account. When I try to request a trade with a friend, the following message appears: "Oh no! Sorry, some kind of error has occurred" and when I go to the support section regarding trades, I am informed that my account is not eligible to trade, but it does not say why. I would like to know why this is happening and what I can do to resolve it.

Note: my account is not banned and it is not a new account either.

Try again in a couple of hours. You recently changed your profile name. That carries a new undocumented trade cooldown.

The unfortunate part about the new profile name change trading cooldown (4 hour cooldown every time you change your profile name) is that page (linked below) will only state, "we have confirmed your account is unable to trade" generic message. Leaving people wondering wtf is going on.

The error while you trade during this cooldown is error (34).

It took a while earlier last year to figure out Valve silently added the new cooldown.
