Ultimately the context matters. .zip files are common and have been for decades. Although random zip files from untrusted sources could potentially be dangerous. But is that's what is happening here?
You agreed to generate a bug report, in a game you're playing which you nominally aren't concerned about, purchased from a store that you also nominally trust. It doesn't sound like a scenario of concern to me. Is there some reason you think there is an issue or could be?
You forget where we came from , modem age where you pack files so it don'twaste space, and what if they made raw data at disk then size will be so much more, no my friend that game devs know what they are doing and try avoid take more then needed, what about next crash dump report, so you see size matter. even then we have 4TB+ 10TB+ and tecnicaly zip file is so little that it look like a joke then it's not. ( what if you never delete them. in raw data, then you will be upset then they do that. ( any compressed format is better then nothing. ) even lzh file format from the past could have been used.
Are we not talking about game make a error report in zip file , even i have seen that before, but with 1000+ game with box game , you do not remember where you seen in what game app.
Even remmeber some old EA game with config tester and make report file, point is its not a new thingy.
I was talking about another mistake that happened to another player.
I'm not sure about the error report because of the windows defense message
