steam + vpn?
Hello, I can't find a definite answer to my question. Is it allowed to use or log into a steam account with a VPN? There is no talk of any purchases or entering the game with a VPN. Thanks for the answer.

As long as you are not hiding your country of origin, and/or use it to buy games at a cheaper price, you are fine.

If you live in Russia and you use a VPN to make it look like you are living in another country, that can bring you in trouble.

:saint:
As long as you don't bypass regional content restrictions or make purchases from another region.

I apologize for asking again, but how exactly do you mean to hide the country? If we consider the situation that I wrote in the topic itself. Is this prohibited? (I remind you, Is it allowed to use or log into a steam account with a VPN?) It is a last question, im sorry

If you want to use a VPN to connect to Steam, the internet facing endpoint/exit node of that VPN must be in the same country as in which you physically live. If it isn't, it's not allowed then.

So if you live, let's say, in India, the VPN must be in India as well and enter the internet from within India (so it has an Indian IP) as well.

Yes, under the circumstances mentioned earlier, you can login with a VPN.

then they can get their account locked and/or terminated for violating the Steam Subscriber Agreement, namely Section 3 A.

it's exactly what it says. If Valve or the game dev doesn't allow your country access or has different prices for your country, you are not allowed to use it to circumvent these region specific adjustments.

If a game is not sold in Russia, then you may not use a dutch VPN to buy it.

In general even, you are not allowed to use a VPN to perform purchases AT ALL.

If you can't view certain content without a VPN because Valve denies you access to it, it's best for the safety of your account to stop doing so.
