How to upload Videos to Steam NOT through YT?
I can't seem to find any info on this matter. Every single google search yields "youtube"

Why do I HAVE to upload stuff from youtube? It doesn't make any sense

Steam already introduced new game recording feature, which I AM using, I'm making a video out of a clip, I can't upload that video anywhere

Is it not possible without a youtube channel?

It's not possible without YT.
Valve doesn't want to host millions clips forever.

The clip links expire after a few weeks or so and no longer available on the servers.

how is it close though?

I literally asked about how to post clips without YT, I don't care about their expiration date

Anybody else got any actual answers to this?

  1. Recorded video is on your local machine
  2. Upload that video to any video hosting platform you want
  3. Get the link for your uploaded video and post that link wherever you want

Since you're convinced you're not talking about what everyone else thinks you're talking about, maybe you should take a minute to elaborate what exactly you're trying to do. Because either you don't understand what you're trying to do, or you're skipping over some details leading to confusion.

yeah well, seems as if Steam only works with YT when it comes to videos so no, I'm not confused. And no, it will not work with just about ANY video hosting platform as far as I understood by google search, only YT

As long as the site itself isn't blacklisted on Steam, you can still post the link -- it will be shown as the link -- it just won't be embedded like unprotected Youtube links are.
Vimeo videos embed...
