Steam openID broken?

Did something change to the openID authentication as my integration has broken and I see it happening on other websites as well who use this system.

Same here. Do they out of the blue combat phishing schemes this way? Ruining plans of everyone who needed to use that RIGHT F’N NOW. Or ever…

To webmasters who used Steam ID on their sites? They would know.

I am the developer of the website and I don't know. I know where the documentation is for the integration, but I don't know where to go if the service isn't functioning.

Hey, steams OpenID system is down for everyone, not just you. I'm sure steam is aware so it's more than likely something we'll have to wait out.

Thats the thing, are they aware, would they deem it a critical aspect of their platform enough to bother monitoring.

Theres been issues like this back in 2018-19 and 2016 as well. Like i said, just wait it out. Trust me, they aren't "discontinuing" the login feature, it'd literally brick thousands of websites that rely on it.

Also keep in mind today was steam maintenance, OpenID seemed to not come back up after it and it was working fine before maintenance. Probably just a bug.

Yeah it's broken. Oddly enough if you change the openid back end to use GET requests instead of POST it works. Post returns HTTP 503.

Hi yes i can confirm that, but the GET does not return any details, so far i am aware of.

and post return 403 for me ?
