I cancelled a pending payment but my money is still not yet back

I purchased a NBA2k25 and using my bank account and got a message that I successfully paid for it but suddenly it got an pending payment and because I got credited I canceled it thinking that it will be refunded but my money is still no where to be found in my bank account what do I do? I already submitted a ticket for my bank that my money is still not yet back

The money isn't gone. It is on hold in your bank and awaiting electronic claim by Valve. As that will never happen, the hold will expire, within these 7 days, and then the money should return to your bank account.

How exactly did Steam scam you when you cancelled a pending payment which means it was being processed by your bank to send to Steam, and in turn Steam never received the money.
