Some steam games BSOD on launch SOLVED!
So I am having this problem with steam. ETS2, ATS, Ready or Not, Cities Skylines and SGW 2 do this,.EA WRC, Beamng, assetto corsa run normally, I haven't tried other games. It blue screens 90% of the time I try to run the games mentioned above, the first to start was ETS2 and it started happening after the last windows update. The error is called kernel_mode_heap_corruption specifically 13A - 0x11 (Heap detected invalid internal state). I tried all microsoft solution, it isn't a hardware problem, nor a driver problem. Only thing I didn't try was to update BIOS, since I don't have a clean flashdisk I can spare. I appriciate every bit of help. Btw, cities skylines runs fine through epic, so I am 100% certain it's a steam problem, but I can't contact steam directly unfortunately. Games that are not installed through steam run fine.

SOLVED EDIT:
I think I know what caused this. Either an old BattleEye I had installed with Arma 2, Malwarebytes or some Gigabyte startup program that does...stuff I guess. I think the main problem was the malwarebytes which is probably quite invasive, even though I didn't have premium.

PC: gigabyte ax370 k3, geforce 3060, ryzen 1500x, 32gb ram, 240ssd, 1tb hdd and 2tb hdd, 750W

Upload your crash dump for someone, i.e. me, to analyze.

Gigabyte does do an app called @Bios where you can update your bios from your desktop. You can get the latest Bios and the App from the support page of your motherboard on Gigabyte's web site. Just beware though when updating your bios, things can go wrong and brick your motherboard, so, only use at your own peril. I have used @Bios though over the years and always been fine for me.

Yeah, I am quite fearfull of updating the BIOS, but it's true it's from 2017, but I can't afford to lose my data and basically my computer. I am really sceptical about it.

What prevent you read BIOS update or ask that Brand board for advice or complain over lack of BIOS detail what its updating.

If you think we are going to backstap or talk badly about what your Brand support has fixed, then , we could get in troube for steam user that report us for advice ppl not to update, that could happend here.

Steam has rules, i doubt any here dare say never update anything, thats like shooting yourself in the foot here. ( graphic driver get update all the time as example, pretty sure all steam user have seen not update things solve nothing here. )

Feel free not to do so , thats your choise here.

but i bet you forget we are done talking here, and i doubt even reboot what to look at it if he judge fix is alread part of the update, and i bet he will say have a nice day then.

and noone will help or suggest anything anymore.

Your motherboard has had quite a few updates to its bios since 2017 with the latest being Sept 2024. While updating a bios can be daunting, sometimes you really must update your bios, no matter if you're worried about doing so or not. In over 27 years I've never had any problems updating a bios. Just make sure to not turn your PC off while updating and wait until it says it is finished and everything should be fine.

Hopefully ReBoot will find your problem in the crash dump and you'll not need to update your bios but the bios info for your motherboard is below in case you ever do require it. :happyleon:
