May is 7 months ago, that money has long gone to the publisher. No shop in the world grants you a refund after 7 months, especially not for digital goods.
I think the longest is GOG who offer 30 days and even that is dependant on the buyer proving that there is something wrong with the product and first working together with their Support to fix said problem.
You not wanting to create/use a 3rd party account that is necessary for the game is not a legit refund reason anywhere since this falls under " do your own research before buying" and is mentioned on the store page of the games you buy.
BTW if you are using Windows you already have a XboxLive account since your Windows account doubles as a account for all Microsoft Xbox services on PC, that includes their Xbox gaming side.
