unlink from Bethesda
I own this game even without steam, but for some reason when I installed it with steam for my son it only opens my account making the purchase pointless as he cannot play his account. Bethesda and Steam both have hidden the unlink option recently leaving me with 2 copies of a legally obtained game that can only use 1 twice???

the game would have to be purchased on your son's account
Steam and non-Steam, copies are distinct; launch one through Steam, and the other one in whatever way it needs to be launched.

However, having both installed on the same computer might be a bit tricky, since it's going to be mostly the same game, so things might "leak" over -- even you install them into different directories, they will still share user-files or registry trees.
Bethesda has migrating to steam, please make sure this has be done first.

ps.
technicaly there is no Behesda online client anymore.
so there is nothing to unlink if they done this right, and all games will be bound to steam user account.

and its here unlink from Behesda is not possible. ( afaik ) then its now steam product.

old box games maybe thats was for XP.

thats the problem was purchased through wrong account. if was able to separate then he could play his game as fresh start while I played my long running game but he does use my PC at times. may just request refund if this cannot be undone

Oh, that's what this is about.

No, it cannot be "separated". On Steam, games stay on whatever account they have been purchased/registered on; "period".
