Scheduling gift deliveries through Steam isn't working

Twice now, I've bought someone a gift on Steam and scheduled it to be delivered on Christmas Eve only for the games to be sent to the intended recipient immediately. This is very irritating, since it ruins the surprise and spoils the gift itself (usually I wrap a fake present with a picture of the game and a sticky note inside saying to check Steam, knowing it should have been delivered at roughly the same time they're opening the present; there's no point in doing that when they already have the dang game). The first time, even though I remembered setting up a delivery schedule for Christmas Eve, I thought I must have somehow messed it up. But the second time, after double and triple checking to make sure I didn't mess it up again, it *still* immediately sent to the recipient? Now I know Steam's the culprit.The second recipient has told me he's been notified of a gift but hasn't looked at it yet, so it's not too late to unbork his surprise, even if the first one is already ruined. Steam, fix this.

You are not the only one, i seen a few threads from users with the same problem since the Sale started.
Something seems definitely bugged with game gift scheduling right now.
