Steam Families question
Haven't moved to steam families but we currently use shared libraries quite a bit in our familiy and I have a question that the FAQ seems to be very vague on. If anyone has already started to use the new Families feature:

What happens if I own a copy of X. My wife owns a copy of X. My child does not own a copy of X. My other child does not own a copy of X.

My wife and I usually play X together, say a coop multiplayer game (grounded, Remnant II, etc).

Suppose my kids are at college and have downloaded and are playing X together. But I come home and sit down to play X.

The wording in the FAQ suggests that I'm SOL even though it's really my game that I purchased and they just decided to fool around with it that day.

Currently the owner of the game would kick the non owner off the game when they start it up. Is that not how the new system works?

The current version of steam families is based on being in the same household now and they would expect you to tell the person to quit the game if you wanted to play it as the owner now.

You can see posts about this on the steam families forum:

There is no ownership priority anymore in the new Steam Family system.
Everyone has the same rights to all game licenses shared in the family.
So if those two licenses are in use you have to wait till those members stop playing if you and your wife want to play yourself.
