My friend cannot play the game i gifted to him!

Hi, me and my friends wanted to play AoE II HD game together. 3 of us had steam account, but the 4th one didnt. So he made an account and I gifted him the game, but he is not able to play the game at all. Can anyone help him?

Yes, he already installed the game, but when he clicks on PLAY nothing happens

I heard that there might be problem, because his account is new and he didnt invest any money on steam. Is that true? Because it sounds like total bullsh*t to me... :/

The limited account wouldn't effect him in this case.

Its possible the game is corrupted or he doesn't meet the minimum required specs for the game. You can check for corruption by right clicking the game > properties > local files > verify integrity of game cache.
