Supreme Commander 2 I thoroughly enjoyed. It's more tightly focused and the maps are smaller but it's gameplay is more streamlined and requires less micromanagement than the others.
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is based on the first Supreme Commander and is basically a standalone expansion for it. It's maps are huge and it can take a few hours to complete a campaign mission. It requires a lot more skill to play but, for me, that makes victory all that more satisfying.
I suppose it all depends on what you enjoy. If you like a straight forward RTS like Command and Conquer etc then Supreme Commander 2 is probably your best bet. If you want a far more strategic RTS and have the time to put in to play it properly then Supreme Commander Forged Alliance is your best bet.
If you're unsure then there is actually a free demo of Supreme Commander 2 on steam which you should try out.
