steamdcmd login failed

Would appreciate any help people could offer.

I have installed steamcmd and trying to log into it for the first time.

Login Failure: Invalid Password

Now the issue I have is that the password is fine. I can log into the website, the client and the support site using it. The only slight oddity I have is my user name has a space in it but when I try to login using ***** ***** it simply cannot find the account at all so I presume adding the underscore wouldn't be the issue.

Any thoughts?

Not sure what other information may be of use but my pc is a Windows 8.1 64 bit OS run through a home network

Same here... i entered login accname@emailname and after i pressed the pass again it worked... make sure it is in english ;)

Ah perhaps I shoudl clarify then to mitigate your ire somewhat.

I resolved the problem by using a 3rd party piece of software to host the game server which uses an anonymous login to steamcmd. This resolved my issue of not being able to get into steamcmd.

I contacted Steam support and they were unable to aid me logging in using my actual credentials.

So problem was resolved by avoiding the need to log in, not by actually being able to log in. I only needed access to it to run an Ark game server and the 3rd Party Software does this admirably now.

For future visitors ;) : I got the same problem , i tried to login before like this : login <username> <password> with brackets , and got this error but it should be like this : login myname mypass , space between password and the username and that's it , it should work ..., hope that helps anyone who made the same mistake.
