I want to upgrade a game I was gifted...

Is it true it is possible that if I purchase the ultimate edition of a game I already own that the price of the game will be deducted ? So I would only be paying the difference? Please advise

Depends if the publisher set it up that way.

Not on that game there is no bundle to buy only the Premium Edition.

You can upgrade but it will be full price unless a refund is done and then you by the Premium Edition.

You would have to have the game refunded then re-purchased if trying to go from the Standard to the Premium edition. Otherwise, you'd have to wait for the publisher to push an upgrade DLC.

Game devs/pubs set up the upgrade package or bundle, not Valve.
