Different accounts on same pc
Alright basically I have an old account which used to be my main, but I made a second one because I didnt like the username of the first one and now the second one is my main; we'll call the old main acc1 and the current/second main acc2. I got a new laptop a while ago and installed steam, then logged into steam with ACC2. I then also added ACC1 to switch to cus I had games that were not on ACC2 that were on ACC1, such as DayZ and geometry dash. Then I bought geometry dash on ACC2, so now both accounts have geometry dash. However when I play geometry dash on ACC2, everything from ACC1 is on it, even the achievements. Even when I removed ACC1 from steam, I still have some achievements, and some games that I didnt have in my ACC2 library, which I had on the ACC1 library, were still IN my library, just the "play" button replaced with "purchase". Pretty much game slike geometry dash were super laggy on any pc which i played geometry dash on that account. even my 4060 laptop, so its not a hardware issue as its happened on multiple devices; I suspect its an account issue, hence why I bought it on ACC2, but the same problem persists, most probably because the accounts are linked somehow. But like why is my stuff from ACC1 still on ACC2, if ive removed ACC1 from steam??? like even if i play geometry dash it doesnt start up the game like ive never played before, it just acts like im playing on ACC1 instead of ACC2?

Sorry if this was a long one I tried searching it up but didnt get this specific answer.

Thanks

You most likely have a game file that was downloaded from Steam's cloud from the one account and it has been used for the second account. Unfortunately, due to how games are installed and how they save their progress files, to separate the two will require you to also have a 2nd Windows account for the new PC and then be diligent about which Steam account is logged in while using the different Windows accounts.
bruh r u actually serious. first they dont let you change ur username and then now this crap
wait so can i just remove the game file and put it like in my desktop and then put it back in when i want?

It’s hardly Steam’s fault if a developer uses Window’s documents folder to store their save games rather than the literal dedicated user directory Steam provides them.
yeah true
