Question about steam discussion guidelines

I have read it and it says advertisement is prohibited but I'm just curious because I wanted to support my friend who is a first timer in creating a Visual Novel video game but its on f95zone and its nsfw. So am I allowed to just post a discussion recommendation about the game on the off-topic section and post a link for his visual novel game?

Hope someone with steam discussion knowledge will respond or notice.

What you're referring to is called astro-turfing and would fall under the no-advertising rule.

aw geez thanks for the heads up, that's so unfortunate. Do you guys know any thread or site where you can recommend a game outside of steam?

If you think that your friend's game would appeal to a game's specific audience you could try posting it on that game's Reddit page

Note that certain subreddits may allow advertising. Others do not

Ensure you look at the rules for the specific subreddit. Spamming advertising that is against the rules is a very very quick way to get banned from a subreddit.
