I managed the Wii U pro controller to work in steam
Hi there, just solved some problems and doing copypasting from my reddit comment. I didn't find the solution anywhere so I started experimenting and came up with the result. So, i'm sharing here for it was easier to find

It's 3:30am and SOMEHOW I just managed my Pro Controller to work with steam. I didn't write the steps but i'll try to remember everything I did.

1. I used WiinUPro 0.9.8 instead of the newest one. I dont really know if that's the thing but it worked.

*2. Deleted xbox gamepad driver in Steam settings (by accident actually, and I don't think thats's the thing)

3. In controller configuration (second WiinUPro 0.9.8 tab) via Options button I chose one of the Pro controller configs.

4. Installed some SCP driver from the SCP_Driver folder. Maybe* after that I was able to add controller to the XInput devices (before that it never added into the list). Then clicked the "Connect" button near the controller icon, It *beeped* like some device has been connected to the PC. I opened Steam in Big Picture and was able to controll it with the Pro controller and play DMC. I it works as a regular xbox gamepad now, so you can even change the layout to the Nintendo one.

I hope this will help you! 20 bucks saved btw

This is great news but we need specific steps.

What do you mean by that? I see I did some mistakes at formating, it's now corrected.
I mentioned which software I used, even version, and all needed is a BT adapter and WiinUPro app + installing driver in the same folder. If anything's unclear, feel free to ask

You are not even sure yourself how you achieved it.
Also there is no data transferred from the Wii Pro cord, so it would have to be wireless.

Can you figure out exactly what you did to make it work and make a step-by-step post?

Try doing every point except 2*. It wont take long. The only thing to download is WiinUPro 0.9.8 from github
