Account issues
I purchased Valheim some time ago and now I want to redownload it. However, I can only see two games in my library, neither of which is Valheim.

I checked my account and noticed that my username has changed, even though I've been using the same email for years. When I looked through my email history of when I purchased the game, I saw that my Steam username was my old one (I'm not sure why it changed). Now I'm confused - do I have to purchase it again, or can I re-download it? I'm using a different PC that I've had for almost a year.

Account names can not be changed.

You are on the wrong account.

Hello Sir, Thank you for responding!

Okay so... I have gone into the "forgot username/password" section and entered my old username. It states "user not found" I've only ever used 1 email with steam. the account which I'm currently logged into is using that same email. How come I can't see my older purchases?

Because you made purchases across two different accounts. Account names are unique. That is not the same as your profile name.

Look through old Steam purchase emails if you haven't deleted them. The emails will have the account name the purchase was made on.

Each purchase mail starts:
Hello <account name here>
Thank you for your recent transaction on Steam.

Hello Sir, I've now raised a ticket with support. the username in the email has disappeared into the ether... How am I using the same email if its different accounts?
You can use the same email on as many accounts as you want. There is no limit.

It sounds like you possibly set the account name on one of the accounts to the email address and another account with something different, possibly the profile name?

Steam's account names can be whatever. If you set it to an email address, it's just a name that looks like an email address, not really the email address itself, if that makes any sense. The accounts have a separate field just for setting the email address so they know where to send emails.

Ahh okay so does that mean that I may have added it one of my other email addresses perhaps?
Probably. Try checking.
