Racking up big hours on games I never play
I don't understand how Steam can say that I have racked up 50, 60, 70 or more hours on games I own but have never played.

There must be a way to turn off the meter.

Does anyone know how?

Steam tracks playtime when the game exe is running therefore someone else has access to your account.
I doubt it.

Unless I have been hacked but that's unlikely. No one touches my home computers.

NO ONE!

I would, at the very least, check to make sure you were not phished, and hopefully those games are not Vac enabled, as you could catch a VAC ban from a logged in user using cheats 'playing' your games.

Of course, it could be nothing as well.

Ghosts?

Could be just a Steam Screwup..

better safe than sorry.
Thanks, muchachos. Will look into your threats.

It was you that came to the forum looking for help. If your games on your account are increasing in hours then your account is running them somewhere. If you're not running them then someone else is.

Good luck to you.

If it is for these then that would be why.

I clearly stated "access to your account." I made no mention of your computers.

Check this Authorized Device's
https://store.steampowered.com/account/authorizeddevices

Dont be in steam Beta maybe. unless you need it.

or

Family share bug that somehow now count as you play them. ( not seen before afaik, but whatelse is there then its game regi is at your account.

ps.
Don't forget the above user pointers, we dont need to repete other already posted solutions
and it don't seem to fit with a app that hang in memory with several games.
