STEAMCMD app_update xxxxxxx error "no subscription"

Beating my head against the wall over this. Updating or installing a game server with anonymous login and kept getting the "no subscription" error even though the command line was correct, app ID was correct, steamcmd said it was up to date, said I was logged in as anonymous..... I had to delete my steamcmd folder, re-download and run the steamcmd client again and it installed the game. You are welcome.
