How Does Steam Organize Games on Your HD?

I'm new to steam and have bought about 15 games through it.

When I drill down into the steam client folder, which probably contains all of my games, it's just a series of folders and single files. No where is there any mention of what files go with which games.

Here's why I'm asking. I want to add a third party mod to Cold Waters which probably has to be dropped into a specific folder. The problem is that I can't figure out where to drop it.

1. How do I find the right folder?

2. Does it look like I screwed up my installation of the Steam client and games in the screencap? Shouldn't each game be in its own unique folder?

By default games are installed under \steamapps\common\

Each game will have it's own folder with all the game files in it.

You could try asking in Cold Waters forums, im sure other players of the game will know more about where you need to place the mods within the games files.

You can also right click on any game in your library, go to properties, installed files, then browse and it will open up the install location in explorer.
