WH40K: Rogue Trader Update Error [Fixed]
I'm constantly getting an error on the download screen for Rogue Trader, it says "Game Configuration Unavailable" in red.

I believe this has something to do with having installed a mod on the workshop before it was removed?

I've Googled it endlessly and done all the suggestions I can find.

I've deleted every trace of RT from my HDDs, deleted every single cache file I can find in Steam, uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times. I've deleted every trace of workshop content I can find, I've deleted everything from my AppData folders related to RT.

Does anyone have any other suggesions?

Try searching the related game forum? There's a post with instructions about how to fix it.

Ideally, Owlcat should fix it for all users, but their taking the easy route of blaming Valve for their own mishandling of the workshop removal.
Tried the RT forums, got very little from there unfortunately.
Although not written for Steam Workshop it may help resolve the issue. No guarantees.

I can confirm this is Workshop related. When the Workshop was removed from WH40K: RT, the subscriptions were left intact, so Steam is trying to update workshop items that no longer exist, leading to the error I described.

After following loads of guides and threads, the one thing that actually fixed the issue was to find the button in Steam to unsubscribe from ALL workshop items across ALL games.

Sucks if you have a lot of workshop mods subbed across lots of games, but it did fix the problem.

Thank you for posting the fix for those who subscribed to the workshop mods.

Can i suggest a new thread where you highlight the fix so others can find it. I personally never used the workshop mods so never encountered the issue.

The only thing i would suggest is to tell others to favourite workshop mods so they can find them again before doing your fix.
