Changing/resetting the password will revoke awards given to others going back roughly 2 weeks. There is no way to prevent it from not revoking them.
Unfortunately, if you change your Steam password, any pending trades, Market transactions, or Steam Points Awards you've sent may be canceled, and your account will enter a trade cooldown period for security reasons. This is part of Steam’s system to protect users in case of potential unauthorized access.
However, there’s good news:
- Steam Points Awards you’ve already sent and that have been received by others are permanent. Once an award is displayed on someone’s profile or content, it can’t be revoked.
- Only awards that are still pending (not yet visible to the recipient) might be affected.
If you absolutely need to change your password for security reasons, go ahead and do so. Your sent awards should remain intact if they’ve already been displayed. If you’re unsure, you can reach out to Steam Support for confirmation before proceeding.
Let me know if you need more help!
Chaning your password does not restrict you from trading or using the Market. Only a password reset will do this.
Double check your ChatGPT responses before using them on the forums. This is the 2nd time today you got it wrong.
