Steam mobile app: profile popups block comments when scrolling

When I'm scrolling through user comments in the steam app (including discussion comments, reviews, etc.) I have to be careful to ensure my thumb doesn't stop scrolling over a profile name, otherwise a profile popup for that user appears and blocks half the screen.
Obviously this is super annoying, as I only want to see a profile popup if I deliberately *tap* a profile name, not if my thumb just happens to cross over it while scrolling.
Is there any way to prevent this or turn it off?
