(This is for you)- sending messages to my friend with some weirdo link
Someone got into my account without any notifications on mail, or alerts of penetrating the steam acc, idk how, first of all. My friends was just texting me about those weirdo messages with link like I sent them a gift. I contacted support, change steam password, mail password, changed api, scan with malwarbyte, deauthorize all devices, and the messages stop sending to my friends. I hope its over now, but any tips what to do if its comeback. Im not usually on those weirdo sites. HELP PLEASE.

Here's all the steps for securing you account in case you missed anything.

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Not sure what you mean by "weirdo sites". But it doesn't have to be you, that visit such sites. If you share a network with someone, using same router without proper firewall, the whole network is open for grabs by penetrator.

The link contained "steamcommunimutty" literally like this the link read. Considering that it is a scam link and that it is being sent to my friends, I proceeded in the manner stated above, changing the password of the account, email, etc. The only worrying thing about all this is that I can't figure out how someone got into the account without any notification from the security system of my email. Let's be clear, the person who hacked didn't even try to make any changes to the account, he just tried to send those scam links, but luckily that stopped immediately after changing the password. My only concern is that it doesn't happen again. It's as if some bot was sending it all.
