Download Game!
Hey Folks,
Here's an incredibly easy question to answer: How do I download a game? Sounds so simple, right? Well, thing is, I can't do it. Have a game, it was a gift, and there is NO WAY for me to download it. If I click on the game, I get the option to PLAY it, but that's all. Oh, and it doesn't work when I try to that, just FYI. The system says the game is in my library, but when I go there, there's nothing there! I tried going to tech support, but guess what: there's nothing in their list of prepared answers that covers this simple act! There's also no way to contact them! Gosh, what an efficient and brilliant gaming system we have here, eh? Anyway, anyone got an idea as to how to do this? If nothing else, can you help me contact Steam so I can talk to an actual human and maybe get some help? Thanks!

If you can play the game it is downloaded

Specifically, the button that says "Play" would say "Install" if it's not installed.

Just maybe... go to your Games Library, and from the top Steam menu, click View > Hidden Games.

I can't play the game, so it is NOT downloaded. It is NOT installed, yet the button only says play. Oh, and I tried going to the library - nada! Thanks anyway. Again, anyone have a clue as to how to contact Steam?
Do you have the ready to play filter selected? Above the games list on the left there is a little ▶ icon that filters for them. Try unchecking that.
